This is two jobs that used to be separate.
One: run agency projects. Scope, schedule, budget, client communication, keeping designers and developers pointed the same direction. The unglamorous discipline that makes everything else possible.
Two: be the technical answer in the room. A client describes a problem, you recommend the right solution — and then, often, you build it yourself with Claude Code, Replit, Cursor, or whatever gets it done, instead of putting it in the queue behind three other projects.Most weeks you do both. Some weeks the fastest path to a happy client is you shipping a working prototype on Thursday afternoon. Other weeks it's you writing a clean brief and getting out of the team's way. Knowing which week you're in is the actual skill we're hiring for.To be clear about what this isn't: we're not training models. We're building real things on top of foundation models for real clients with real deadlines. If your background is research or MLOps, this will bore you.
You're the go-to for your clients. You translate vague requests into technical requirements and either execute or delegate — deliberately, not by default. You push back on bad ideas from either direction and bring a better option instead. You improve our SOPs as you go rather than complaining about them.
